Brian Pacheco

Lead Pastor

Brian Pacheco has been in pastoral ministry since 2010. After devoting his first twelve years to worship, youth, and family ministry, Brian planted Flatiron Church in fall of 2022.

Flatiron Church is the newest daughter congregation to be planted out of Rock Point Church. Rock Point is part of Vision Arizona, the regional church planting movement of Converge Southwest. This partnership has revealed a kindred spirit between the two churches – sharing a similar culture and vision for the East Valley. This partnership has already bloomed into an emerging movement, with the hopes of planting many more churches in the years to come.

Brian is a graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary, where he received his Master of Divinity in the spring of 2020. He and his wife, Melinda, have four wonderful kids: Cora, Calvin, Mia, and Ruby.

Brian’s other interests and hobbies include his family, traveling, hiking, hunting, strategic board games, history, and philosophy.

What is your most unusual talent?
I can always find water when golfing.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
It would likely take longer than a week, but I would love to learn how to design and build a multi-stage amplifier. I love varying guitar sounds and am always searching for something different than my Mesa can give me.

Cliff Dailey

Youth and Young Adults Director

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Cliff has since moved to Illinois, Florida, and China before settling into Arizona. While on his quest to find the best pizza in the entire world, he became saved and committed his life to serve God with his time, talents, treasure, and testimony in 2013. Since 2013, he has answered his call to full-time ministry before graduating from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a major in Business Administration. After college, Clifford answered the hardest question he faced in his life: what does a spine surgeon, haunted house, marketing firm, human resource company, and personal protection equipment have in common? They were all companies owned by his new boss!

In 2018 he answered the call and personal invitation from pastor Brian Pacheco to start a new church, and Cliff has since gotten married, graduated with his Masters in Theological Studies at Reformed Baptist Seminary, and seen his family grow by +1. Cliff has been blessed to see God grow his family spiritually and numerically, and the numerical growth should come as no surprise since he has 10 siblings and his wife has nine! Cliff and Leah gladly anticipate raising their firstborn, Abraham, in the Eastmark area. Meanwhile, Cliff stays busy by watching war movies, hanging out with friends, talking guns, playing competitive chess, and reading about the next thing he needs to learn.

What is your most unusual talent?
I can grow a full mustache but not a beard.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning a new hobby, then what would it be?
Between card magic tricks or a new language… card magic tricks for sure! My dad would perform magic tricks as one of his side hustles, and card magic tricks greatly interested me. There’s something about being captivated in mystery that sounds like “Whoa! How did you do that?”

Eric Krebs

Kids Director

Eric came to faith in 2010 and began operating as a layleader in his local church for a number of years until he became an intern. In 2014, Eric earned his Bachelor’s in Sociology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. During this time, Eric also started attending Covenant Theological Seminary pursuing a Degree in Biblical Counseling, where he learned a great deal about God’s Word which stirred in him a passion for the Old Testament.

As the internship and his pursuit of the counseling degree ended to focus on starting a family, Eric married his wife, Alyssa, and they both pursued kids and collegiate ministry in their local church, with an unexpected but welcomed focus on international ministry through the local university. Eric and Alyssa have been married since 2017 and have two phenomenal children.

Eric has now begun to raise support to join Flatiron Church full time as the Family Director. “Perhaps the most common theme of what the Lord has done in my life is to show that He is near in the midst of every difficulty and joy that the circumstances of life bring whether I am ready to believe it or not.”

Eric’s hobbies right now include a newfound love for keeping an aquarium, hanging out with people, reading with his kids, and playing board and video games.

What is your most unusual talent?
I have an incredible sense of smell.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning a new hobby, then what would it be?
If I did this right now, I would take as much time as possible to learn the violin.

Brett Love

Creative Arts Director

Brett Love began attending Flatiron Church with his wife, Meg, in January of this year. They have two sons, Cash & Wilder. The family enjoys spontaneous trips to new cities, hiking, camping, awkward situations, and of course music.

Brett graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Biology, planning to chase medical school, but when presented with a question of career, he chose his love of music instead. He found himself in the music industry producing, audio engineering, and taking on videography for artists all over the country.

Eventually, he left the music industry when he felt called to pursue ministry. This saw the family move to an old river town called Alton, in Illinois to assist with a small church plant there. That initial plant unfortunately had to close its doors, but through that, God paved the way for him and his family to relocate and continue ministry at Flatiron right here in the Valley.

Jadon Bush

Youth Coordinator

Jadon Bush is a passionate individual who finds joy in both virtual and physical realms. He is happily married to his best friend, Jenna, who supports him in all his endeavors. When he’s not conquering virtual worlds, you can find Jadon pushing his limits at the gym. In his downtime, he indulges in his favorite food, carne asada tacos.

With his love for gaming, dedication to fitness, and appreciation for delicious cuisine, Jadon embodies a life full of excitement, balance, and flavor.

Luke Griffin

IT Director

Luke Griffin has been in ministry since 2018 when he joined collegiate ministry and was finally challenged to be a man after God’s own heart. That time was devoted to connecting to the Lord, connecting to other men his own age, and serving the church on worship team, kids ministry and leading within collegiate ministry. As a former music educator, Luke spent much of his time leading students and developing/organizing school programs. There had always been a tug on the heart, however, to take another step further into the ministry lifestyle. So when a church plant was on the horizon, a conversation was had, and that tug to do work for the church was affirmed. Through the mentoring of the Flatiron leadership and many curving roads, Luke has landed on a true personal strength that combined technology and ministry as Flatiron’s IT director.

Previously, Luke worked as a middle school music teacher. Starting in June 2024 Luke has had the chance to dedicate time in a much larger capacity to the church, to manage and take care of the technology, cyber security and software management. Through all of this, though, Luke will have unique opportunities to meet people in a unique setting, and help people take their next step in seeking Jesus.

Luke and his wife Aly just welcomed their first baby, Levi Augustus, to the world in April of 2023. The family is happy and healthy and has been enjoying warm walks, working in the yard and reading Levi his first book: The Hobbit!

What is your most unusual talent?
I can Tuvan throat sing (two notes at one time)

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
Throw on the gloves and learn martial arts like kickboxing and Krav Maga, or something of that sort!

Sam Hanabarger

Executive Assistant

Born in Ohio and raised in Illinois, Sam began pursuing her faith in 2013 at her middle school youth group. There she discovered what it meant to not only love God but also what it meant to love people. She continued growing in her faith while in college at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and started to attend Trailhead Church. There she developed a love to read God’s Word and be in community. While attending Trailhead and SIUE, Sam met her future husband, Seth. They have two dogs, a Golden Retriever named Jack and a Cattle Dog Mix named Cal.

Sam graduated college with a Bachelor’s in Applied Communication Studies. She additionally studied Psychology and Creative Writing, with a specialization in poetry. Soon after graduating, Sam worked as a Job Coach at a local nonprofit, Challenge Unlimited, that enables individuals with disabilities to receive and maintain competitive community employment. Sam and Seth then moved to Arizona where Sam worked as a Registered Behavior Technician for kids with Autism. God used both her job as a Job Coach and her job as a Registered Behavior Technician to remind Sam of God’s love for His people.

Sam is currently raising support to join Flatiron Church’s staff as Pastor Brian’s assistant. She aims to utilize her love of lists and communication to serve God’s people. Sam’s goal is also to work with the Kid’s Team, the Youth Team, and eventually the Special Needs Team. There she aims to show the next generation what it means to love God and love people, just as her middle school youth group showed her.

Sam’s hobbies currently include reading, writing, hiking, getting Dutch Bros, and hanging out with friends and family. Sam would love to learn Spanish, ASL, and how to crochet.

What is your most unusual talent?
I can guess the pun of almost every Dad joke (thanks Dad!).

Brice Johnson

Logistics Coordinator

In August of 2020, Brice was living in Gilbert, Arizona when his dad shared the gospel with him. After hearing the gospel, Brice began to read scripture and understand what it means to be a follower of Christ. In October, Brice was baptized and started to pursue his local church and explore different avenues of sharing his faith. One avenue that peaked Brice’s interest was evangelism, and he partnered with his local church to practice street evangelism and other outreach opportunities. In 2022, Brice decided to begin his education at Calvary Chapel Bible College and will be finishing at Reformed Baptist Seminary in 2026.

Having started bible college, Brice knew he wanted to be in ministry full time. After a providential phone call, Brice was connected to Flatiron Church and he and his wife began to associate with the team. After several months of getting to know Flatiron’s church leaders, Brian and Cliff, Brice was offered a position to intern with the church and help with outreach.

God has blessed me by giving me a calling for ministry, and placing me in a position where I can be a part of His church and proclaim the gospel to a world that needs Christ.

Brice married his wife Hailee in March of 2022 and they plan on starting a family in the future.

Brice spends the free time he has trying new coffee, watching Lord of the Rings, and snowboarding.

What is your most unusual talent
I can drink coffee at midnight and still fall asleep.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
If I had the time, I would get enough jumps to become a certified skydiver. So far I am only at 1 jump.

Bill Bush

Provisional Elder

Bill Bush has been in full-time pastoral ministry since 1990. After devoting his first ten years to youth and family ministry, Bill became Lead Pastor when he and his wife Carrie planted Rock Point Church in 2001. Bill continues to serve on the Lead Team of Vision Arizona, the regional church planting movement of Converge Southwest. He is passionate about using his expertise to develop leaders and is often sought after by faith-based and secular organizations.

He and his wife Carrie have been married since 1992; they have three children: Micah, Jadon, and Sarai; a son-in-law, David; a daughter-in-law, Jenna; and two grandsons, Phoenix and Ollie.

What is your most unusual talent?
I can have a whole conversation only using memes and gifs.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
I would love to go to another country, such as Scotland, and immerse myself in its people, culture, practices, and history. Basically, I would want to do more than sightsee, but it might take longer than a week!

Dave Sutherland

Provisional Elder

Dave Sutherland was born in North Carolina but lost his southern accent long ago. He also lived in Brazil and Ohio before settling in Arizona. Dave attended U of A for his first two years where he met Denise playing co-ed indoor soccer. He then came to his senses and attended his final two years at ASU graduating with a marketing degree. He accepted Jesus as an adult, and the Lord led him from management to sales to land development to house flipping, and finally, to ministry. He has attended Rock Point since 2005 and began working for Rock Point in 2009 in various roles before becoming Executive Pastor in 2017. Dave is amazed by how God has orchestrated his journey and feels so blessed that he is able to be used for God’s Kingdom.

Dave has been happily married to his wife Denise since 1996. He enjoys spending time with his two young adult children, Brooke and Mason. His nicknames have been Toothpick, Bubba, Huevos Rancheros, Super Dave, Dangerous Dave, and most recently, Shady Dave.

What is your most unusual talent?

Only a few people know that I used to draw portraits and sketch a lot in pencil.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?

If I had a week to learn something new, I would learn Spanish, or how to sing, or how to make pasta, or write a novel, or become a marksman … though those would all take more than a week.

Sharon Cataldi

Administrator

Sharon grew up in northern Delaware and lived on the east coast until moving to Arizona in 2006 with her husband and two children.  Once settled in their new home in AZ they met their next-door neighbors who invited them to the local church they were attending.  Their neighbors became family, and they found a community and a church home for the first time.

Sharon has worked in administration for over 25 years, predominantly in the banking industry, but left the corporate world behind when their youngest and AZ native started school full time. She spent the last several years as an administrator and Children’s Ministry leader for a local church.
Currently Sharon works as a sales coordinator for a commercial playground company, but her heart is always to serve the church in whatever capacity the Lord directs her to follow.  Being part of a church community and meeting new people bring her so much joy.

What is your most unusual talent?
Remembering all the actors’ names from tons of movies.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
Learning how to DIY all the things in my house.

Jared Cullum

Groups Lead

Jared accepted Jesus during his middle school years through the guidance of his parents, who actively participated and served in their church. His parents’ genuine modeling of truth, love, and hospitality left a profound impact on Jared, shaping his conviction to live a life aligned with those principles.

As a child, Jared’s family joined a church plant and he watched everyday people intentionally discipling and caring for each other, which mirrored the early church described in the book of Acts. Watching the church grow through intentional discipleship on a relational level changed his life because it wasn’t about numbers, it was about reaching the world for Jesus one person at a time.

Jared feels blessed to be married to his best friend, Stephanie. Together, they have three amazing, loving, and sometimes crazy children. Jared and Stephanie have always done their best to be available– wether hosting or leading a small group or just spending time with people– they love to grow and watch others grow in their walk with Jesus. God has taught them over the years that it’s not the “perfect” marriage, kids or home that make a good small group or friendship, but an open and genuine heart that loves God and loves others.

Following some health challenges, Jared and Stephanie felt God directed them to move to Arizona in 2022. They now feel compelled to step out of their comfort zone again and actively utilize the gifts and abilities God has shaped in them to serve Christ at Flatiron. They enjoy volunteering in various roles and being a part of Jesus working through everyday, ordinary people who are obedient to the call He has put on their lives.

Ashley Lechuga

Events Lead

Ashley did not grow up in church. While in high school, a classmate invited her to youth group and she found connection and community leading her to come to know Jesus during her sophomore year. The Lord quickly put missions and youth ministry on Ashley’s heart. After college she began working as the director of an international sports camp ministry where she traveled to different countries and around the US leading youth and their families in missional work.

In 2008 Ashley felt that the Lord was calling her to move from St. Louis, Missouri to Arizona. In an unexpected turn of events, she began teaching at a Christian school. After several years of teaching, the Lord opened doors for her to take a corporate job with her current company where she has been for the last 10 years. During these times she has continued to serve in various church ministries.

In 2017 Ashley met her husband, Vino. Together they have 4 (too many) dogs. At the end of 2022 Vino asked if they could find a smaller church to attend as they had been at a very large church for years. Scrolling through Facebook Ashley saw an ad for Flatiron Church. That Sunday they attended their first service. By the end, connections were made and the Lord’s hand was evident that this was going to be their church home. Being a part of this church community has been life giving for Ashley, and she cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for Flatiron Church and all of the people that are going to take their next steps with Jesus.

What is your most unusual talent?
Getting lost when driving anywhere without a GPS.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning a new hobby, then what would it be?
I would love to learn how to tile. All of the bathrooms in my house need updating.

Melinda Pacheco

Women's Lead

Melinda is the wife of Pastor Brian and mom to their 4 kids, Coralie, Calvin, Mia, and Ruby. Until January 2022, she spent her entire life in southern Illinois; a small town life and corn fields will always have a piece of her heart. Before having kids, she worked as a social worker in foster/adoptive care and community mental health. She was working in private practice counseling when she decided to stay home full time after having their second child. As a family she, Brian, and the kids enjoy hiking, reading, exploring new places, and making messes. Brian and Melinda have served in various ministries together the entire time they’ve known each another. Taking the steps to move and plant this church was the result of years of prayer and preparation while God did the work in their hearts that only He could do. Melinda’s passions are people meeting Jesus and loving and serving her family well.

Dawn Brady

Operations Lead

I lived in Michigan my entire life prior to my move to Arizona in 2021. Arizona was placed on the map when my twin sister moved here in 2010. My three daughters and I would frequently visit Arizona to see her and the family. I knew I would get to Arizona one day but waited for God’s timing. Upon both my parents passing, a new job opportunity, completing graduate school, and my daughter graduating from high school, the timing was right! Arizona here we come!

I grew up in the Presbyterian Church which gave me a Christian backbone but not a good understanding of the love of Christ. It wasn’t until I was older and started to attend a non-denominational church where I really started to find who Jesus was and what it meant to have a relationship with Christ.

I have worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry for 25 years specializing in rare disease. I am always interfacing with people coming from many different backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, and I see how God uses each of us in the space he has placed us. I currently work in organ transplant and see the reality often of patients not surviving. It is a reminder everyday is a gift from God and we can make a different in someone life each day.
