Brandon Andersen grew up in the Pacific Northwest as the son of a home-builder, with zero intention of ever going into ministry. After earning a Business degree from Trinity Western University in British Columbia, he planned on a career in the business world. But in 2008, those plans changed when a pastor invited him to help lead and organize volunteers at a church. Since then, he’s served in nearly every role in the local church (everything except worship—for good reason), most often as an Executive Pastor.
Brandon’s experience is in organizational leadership, but his deepest passion is spiritual formation and helping people understand what it actually looks like to live out their faith day to day.
He met his wife, Lanna, in December 2008 and married her the following July. They now have three daughters—Isla, Sparrow, and Blythe—and one son, Aksel. Ten years ago they moved to Arizona, where they love the big blue skies and being outdoors—mostly at the soccer field.
His hobbies include exercising, reading, indie rock (still keeping the Seattle roots alive), and just about anything that involves being outside or near water.

This is easy, scuba diving. I would love to go in the water and explore. It is a completely new environment, it is totally quiet, and a little bit of danger.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Cliff has since moved to Illinois, Florida, and China before settling into Arizona. While on his quest to find the best pizza in the entire world, he became saved and committed his life to serve God with his time, talents, treasure, and testimony in 2013. Since 2013, he has answered his call to full-time ministry before graduating from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a major in Business Administration. After college, Clifford answered the hardest question he faced in his life: what does a spine surgeon, haunted house, marketing firm, human resource company, and personal protection equipment have in common? They were all companies owned by his new boss!
In 2018 he answered the call and personal invitation from pastor Brian Pacheco to start a new church, and Cliff has since gotten married, graduated with his Masters in Theological Studies at Reformed Baptist Seminary, and seen his family grow by +1. Cliff has been blessed to see God grow his family spiritually and numerically, and the numerical growth should come as no surprise since he has 10 siblings and his wife has nine! Cliff and Leah gladly anticipate raising their firstborn, Abraham, in the Eastmark area. Meanwhile, Cliff stays busy by watching war movies, hanging out with friends, talking guns, playing competitive chess, and reading about the next thing he needs to learn.
Eric came to faith in 2010 and began operating as a layleader in his local church for a number of years until he became an intern. In 2014, Eric earned his Bachelor’s in Sociology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. During this time, Eric also started attending Covenant Theological Seminary pursuing a Degree in Biblical Counseling, where he learned a great deal about God’s Word which stirred in him a passion for the Old Testament and specifically the second temple.
As the internship and his pursuit of the counseling degree ended to focus on starting a family, Eric married his wife, Alyssa, and they both pursued kids and collegiate ministry in their local church, with an unexpected but welcomed focus on international ministry through the local university. Eric and Alyssa have been married since 2017 and have three phenomenal children.
Eric’s hobbies include working with his hands, hanging out with people, reading with his kids, and playing board and video games.

In 2018, her only son at that time was having difficulty going to the infants classroom at their church in Spokane, WA, so Debra decided to become a volunteer which ultimately sparked her interest in Children’s Ministry. She followed both of her kids from infants to preschool as a classroom teacher and assistant while in Spokane.
She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Reid, since 2013. They have 2 wonderful sons and moved to AZ in 2023 for job opportunities and better weather. They have been attending Flatiron Church since 2024 when they made a permanent move to Queen Creek.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be? Sculpting. I’ve never done it, but respect it as one of the highest forms of art, because there’s no “undo button” in sculpture!

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
I would love to go to another country, such as Scotland, and immerse myself in its people, culture, practices, and history. Basically, I would want to do more than sightsee, but it might take longer than a week!

Dave Sutherland was born in North Carolina but lost his southern accent long ago. He also lived in Brazil and Ohio before settling in Arizona. Only a few people know that I used to draw portraits and sketch a lot in pencil.
If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
If I had a week to learn something new, I would learn Spanish, or how to sing, or how to make pasta, or write a novel, or become a marksman … though those would all take more than a week.
Jared accepted Jesus during his middle school years through the guidance of his parents, who actively participated and served in their church. His parents’ genuine modeling of truth, love, and hospitality left a profound impact on Jared, shaping his conviction to live a life aligned with those principles.
As a child, Jared’s family joined a church plant and he watched everyday people intentionally discipling and caring for each other, which mirrored the early church described in the book of Acts. Watching the church grow through intentional discipleship on a relational level changed his life because it wasn’t about numbers, it was about reaching the world for Jesus one person at a time.
Jared feels blessed to be married to his best friend, Stephanie. Together, they have three amazing, loving, and sometimes crazy children. Jared and Stephanie have always done their best to be available– wether hosting or leading a small group or just spending time with people– they love to grow and watch others grow in their walk with Jesus. God has taught them over the years that it’s not the “perfect” marriage, kids or home that make a good small group or friendship, but an open and genuine heart that loves God and loves others.
Following some health challenges, Jared and Stephanie felt God directed them to move to Arizona in 2022. They now feel compelled to step out of their comfort zone again and actively utilize the gifts and abilities God has shaped in them to serve Christ at Flatiron. They enjoy volunteering in various roles and being a part of Jesus working through everyday, ordinary people who are obedient to the call He has put on their lives.
I lived in Michigan my entire life prior to my move to Arizona in 2021. Arizona was placed on the map when my twin sister moved here in 2010. My three daughters and I would frequently visit Arizona to see her and the family. I knew I would get to Arizona one day but waited for God’s timing. Upon both my parents passing, a new job opportunity, completing graduate school, and my daughter graduating from high school, the timing was right! Arizona here we come!
I grew up in the Presbyterian Church which gave me a Christian backbone but not a good understanding of the love of Christ. It wasn’t until I was older and started to attend a non-denominational church where I really started to find who Jesus was and what it meant to have a relationship with Christ.
I have worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry for 25 years specializing in rare disease. I am always interfacing with people coming from many different backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, and I see how God uses each of us in the space he has placed us. I currently work in organ transplant and see the reality often of patients not surviving. It is a reminder everyday is a gift from God and we can make a different in someone life each day.
